Street2Feet
RHD Street2Feet Outreach Center is the only day shelter and outreach program for adults who are homeless or facing homelessness in Monroe County. Street2Feet is part of RHD’s Crossroads Community Services and, with the financial support of the Emergency Solutions Grant, serves the homeless population of Monroe County. This grant provides half of the funding necessary for them to function and requires that the other half is provided elsewhere, such as the local community and supporting donors.
RHD Street2Feet cleans up the Poconos
RHD Street 2 Feet Outreach Center helped form The Pocono Community Caring Company (Pocono 3C) to provide no-barrier employment with same-day pay, putting Street2Feet clients to work as part of a new multi-county anti-littering initiative. Street2Feet is partnering with the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau, The Pocono Mountains United Way, and The Monroe County Waste Authority to provide an amazing opportunity for Street2Feet clients that helps better their community.

That’s how Kirk describes the day he received his motorized wheelchair from RHD’s Street2Feet (S2F) Outreach Center in Stroudsburg, PA. Kirk is a 63-year-old homeless man, and in 2017, he was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease, an inherited disorder that causes neurons in the brain to gradually break down and die.
