RHD’s Coordinated Homeless Outreach Center (CHOC) recently received a $5,000 matching grant from Ambler Savings Bank, bringing CHOC’s current fundraising total to $13,875.
Funds raised will help support the organization’s relocation to a new building, which is slated to open next spring. The new facility will provide expanded services and single rooms for those experiencing homelessness in a safe, welcoming space.
“The Bank is proud to support CHOC and their work to break the cycle of homelessness for individuals in our community,” commented Roger Zacharia, President and CEO, Ambler Savings Bank.
CHOC, the only year-round, 24/7, emergency housing service for single adults experiencing homelessness in Montgomery County, is a partnership between Montgomery County’s Office of Behavioral Health and Resources for Human Development.
In addition to emergency shelter, CHOC provides street outreach, service counseling, transportation, rapid rehousing, meals, clothing, life skills development, and benefits counseling.
“Due to the overwhelming demands for services, we are excited to be moving forward with plans for our new facility to provide continued quality services,” said Christina Jordan, Director, CHOC. “We thank Ambler Savings Bank and the community for their support of our campaign.”
