Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving: Supporting RHD’s Shared Living Program in South Dakota

We are deeply grateful to Jersey Mike’s for their remarkable support during their annual Month of Giving and Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving campaign, which ran from February 27th through March 26th, 2025. This year, Jersey Mike’s generously selected RHD’s Shared Living Program in South Dakota as their beneficiary, demonstrating their commitment to making a positive impact in our community. 

Making a Difference Through Partnership 

Jersey Mike’s locations across South Dakota participated in this charitable initiative, culminating in the Day of Giving when 100% of sales were donated to our South Dakota disability services. Their generosity will be distributed to our organization in installments, allowing us to plan and implement various enhancements to our developmental disabilities services throughout the year. 

About RHD’s Shared Living Program 

Resources for Human Development’s Shared Living Program in South Dakota develops housing and community-based support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This person-centered care approach fosters independence, community connection, and quality of life for those we serve. 

The Shared Living provider creates a community-based, family-oriented home that offers people the opportunity to participate and contribute to the household, while promoting personal growth and independence. Our South Dakota disability support program matches individuals with dedicated Shared Living Providers who receive extensive support, training, and ongoing oversight to effectively assist the individuals in service. 

RHD South Dakota combines housing and a full array of community supports to help individuals with intellectual disabilities achieve stability and live successfully in the community. This alternative to traditional group homes offers a more personalized living experience tailored to each individual’s unique needs and preferences, making our developmental disabilities services in South Dakota truly responsive to those we support. 

How These Funds Will Help 

The generous contribution from Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving will have a significant impact on our ability to serve our community. These funds will help our South Dakota disability services program: 

• Host diverse events and classes at our day program, providing enrichment opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities 

• Supply essential resources for our employees to deliver quality person-centered care 

• Expand our developmental disabilities services throughout South Dakota to reach more individuals in need 

• Support our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and Shared Living Providers in South Dakota 

Community Support Makes the Difference 

We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated in this fundraiser by dining at Jersey Mike’s during the Month of Giving and especially on the Day of Giving. Your decision to “eat a sub and help a cause” has made a tangible difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our South Dakota community support programs.
