Look Here: A Bold New Art Project from RHD’s Center for Creative Works and Partners
September 25, 2024
We are thrilled to announce Look Here, a groundbreaking collaborative project between RHD’s Center for Creative Works (CCW), Haverford College’s John B. Hurford ’60 Center for the Arts and Humanities, and the Jennifer Lauren Gallery in Manchester, UK. Major support for Look Here is provided by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, with additional backing from Haverford College’s Hurford Center and Atelier Fine Art Services.
Launching in September 2025, Look Here is a multiphase project that seeks to change the narrative around art created in progressive studios and illuminate how neurodivergent artists challenge and expand conventional approaches to artmaking. Foregrounding accessibility, Look Here invites the public to enjoy and engage with artwork, learn about the multifaceted studio practices of artists, and broaden their awareness of progressive studios supporting disabled artists across America. Through concurrent exhibitions, a large-scale symposium, and a first-of-its-kind publication, Look Here aims to amplify the artistic voices of these studios and their talented creators.
This project will celebrate and amplify the achievements of the artists at CCW, whose innovative work continuously pushes the boundaries of art. Their dedication to creativity reflects RHD’s core Values of Creativity and Diversity and Inclusion. By providing opportunities for artists with disabilities to share their voices on a larger platform, Look Here aligns with RHD’s commitment to fostering creativity, breaking down barriers, and building a more equitable world through art.
