Stepping Stones
RHD’s Stepping Stones is the only long-term Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) in Philadelphia, and serves children with a history of emotional and behavioral challenges.
Treatment Methods
Stepping Stones PHP addresses therapeutic needs through group, individual and family therapy; educational needs through special education teachers and the PSD curriculum; and medication needs with our child psychiatrist.
Duration of Treatment
Duration of Treatment is between 12-18 months.
Admission Criteria
Referrals must be 6 to 11 years of age and have a psychiatric evaluation/CBE with a diagnosis and recommendation for Stepping Stones PHP. An initial intake form and a biopsychosocial assessment and psychiatric assessment will be completed with the child and family before admission. The care coordinator will inform the parent/guardian of what documents are needed for the assessment and set up the intake appointment.
Referral Sources
Referral sources for Stepping Stones include psychiatric hospitals, acute PHP, CRC, STS programs, BHRS, FBS, DHS, PSD, Charter schools, and CBH.
