6abc highlights RHD’s Family Practice and Counseling Network
November 11, 2020
Family Practice and Counseling Network (FPCN), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Philadelphia and a program of RHD, held a Grab-and-Go community event that was featured on 6abc. The event, part of an ongoing effort to engage community members, took place at FPCN’s Health Annex in Southwest Philadelphia and offered residents free goods and services including health screenings, COVID-19 testing, flu vaccines, haircuts, supplies for women and children, and much more! As a result of damage caused by civil unrest, the Health Annex will reopen in 2021 as a completely renovated health center. Also opening in 2021 in West Philadelphia will be FPCN’s first of its kind new birth center, which provides the opportunity for mothers to be empowered during their birth experience.
At FPCN, quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege. The clinic provides integrated primary care, behavioral health, and dental health services, turning no one away, regardless of the ability to pay. FPCN is the largest nurse-managed health care network in the country, handling more than 24,000 patient visits a year.
